Application
The Photobook Award 2021 will be granted for a a high-quality fine art photographic book published in 2021. The winner will be granted an award worth 2,000 €, and all finalists will receive 500 €.
The authors must be Finnish citizens or permanent residents of Finland. If the book has several authors, at least half of them must be Finnish citizens or residents.
The publisher and/or printing house can be foreign and the book does not need to be in Finnish language. The book is required to have an ISBN number and the edition needs to be at least 200 pieces.
You can participate by filling the online form between the 3rd and 31st of January 2022 and then delivering one piece of the book to the Finnish Museum of Photography by Sunday 6 February 2022. You can either deliver the book directly to the Museum’s reception or send it to Tallberginkatu 1 G, 00180 Helsinki via mail. The book needs to be appropriately packed and the package must include a filled and printed application form. The books will not be returned to the participants.
The finalists will be announced in March and the winner in April 2022. The winner of the Photobook Award 2021 will be chosen by Paula Roush, a photographer and founder of msdm.studio. Msdm is a London-based house-studio-gallery for photographic art and curatorial research, an expanded practice of the artist's book, photobook publishing, and peer-to-peer collaboration.
