Photobook Award 2023

The Finnish Photobook Award, co-organised by the Museum of Photography and the Association of Photographic Artists, is granted annually to a high-quality fine art photographic book.

The award highlights the book as a form of fine art photography and as an independent art work. The aim of the award is to encourage and motivate authors of photobooks and to invite the public to become familiar with the art form. In spring 2024 the award is granted for a book published in 2023.

The winner of the Photobook Award 2023 is Maija Tammi' Hulda/Lilli. The other finalists of are: Janne Riikonen, Aura Saarikoski, Lorenzo "SerraGlia" Servi, Milla Talassalo and Maija Tammi. You can familiarize with the finalists here.

The winner was chosen by photography curator Thyago Nogueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil). The finalists were selected by a jury consisting of photo editor, curator and critic Tanvi Mishra (New Delhi, India); photographer and writer Ida Pimenoff (Helsinki, Finland); and curator and researcher Sergio Valenzuela-Escobedo (Arles, France).
